Through an MoA signed in June 2023, AATA is the official aviation training partner for UTHM’s Professional Piloting degree programme. As part of the curriculum, students will undergo CPL/IR (ATPL Frozen) training at AATA’s CAAM-approved flight training facilities.
The Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering Technology (Professional Piloting) with Honours is a 4-year degree offered by UTHM in collaboration with AATA.
This programme blends academic excellence in aeronautical engineering with hands-on commercial pilot training (CPL/IR). Graduates gain both technical expertise and flight qualifications, preparing them for versatile roles in the aviation industry.
The programme is fully accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

To enrol in this programme, applicants must meet the following academic and medical criteria set by UTHM and aviation authorities.
• SPM with a grade C in Bahasa Melayu and English
AND
• Matriculation / STPM / Diploma with minimum CPA of 2.80
• Required subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or related Engineering fields
• Minimum BMI: 25
• MUET: Minimum Band 3 < br>
• Pass an interview, aptitude test & medical exam
• No visual or speech disorders
• Minimum height:
158 cm (female), 163 cm (male)
• At least 3 Principal Passes in GCE A-Levels, OR
• International Baccalaureate (IB) with 6 subjects, OR
• Diploma or equivalent recognized by Malaysian government
